Editor’s Note:

A limited amount of courtroom seating will be reserved for media representatives during the motions hearing, jury selection, and trial.  Media representatives who registered for the Porter, Nero, Goodson or Rice trials do not need to register again for the Miller trial.  Media seats in the courtrooms will be reserved on a first-come, first-served, one media representative per media outlet basis until the reserved space is filled.  Media representatives must arrive by 8 a.m. in order to be seated.

When possible, overflow seating will be made available as space for the media and the public permits.  A live closed-circuit audio/video feed will be provided in the overflow rooms.  The use of electronic devices, including cell phones, cameras, and audio or video recording or transmitting equipment is prohibited inside the courtrooms and the overflow rooms.

Photography and videography are prohibited inside of the courthouses.

Designated media rooms will be provided, where electronic devices may be used.  All media interviews must be conducted outside of the courthouses.  Photography and videography are prohibited in the media rooms.

Wi-Fi is not available in either courthouse.  Media representatives should bring their own Wi-Fi connection devices.

Parking will be prohibited around both courthouses.  Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced.

A staging area for media trucks will be located at City Hall Plaza.  Media representatives must not block pedestrian walkways and sidewalks and cannot restrict any public areas for media use.

All media representatives should read the Security/Media Protocol Order (Pre-trial Motions), the Security/Media Protocol Order (Jury Selection), and the Security/Media Protocol Order (Trial Proceedings) to learn about the processes and procedures in effect during the motions hearing, jury selection, and the trial, as well as the Maryland Judiciary’s policy on Cell Phones, Other Electronic Devices, and Cameras in Court Facilities.  No audio or video recording or transmitting equipment, including cameras, shall be permitted inside of the courthouses, except as permitted in the Security/Media Protocol Orders.
